And the Moral of the Story is...

This month I've been trying to make more than minimum payments on my credit card so I can get it paid off faster - consequently all my "extra" money has been going there. Well Saturday I got a couple of things from the store and then checked my checking account balance. I had $4.68. I had tithing to pay, a cell bill to pay, and miscellaneous other things that needed to be paid for. Pay day is on the 8th - the day before school gets out and my cell phone bill is due on the 14th. I knew it'd be tight but it'd be doable if I were careful. Next week I'm selling my books back and I'll get some money for that and I filed my income taxes a couple of weeks ago and it should be coming at some point. I decided to pay my tithing.
This morning I checked my account balance again - not that I expected it to change over night, but you never can tell. My federal income tax return had hit my account. And now I have more than five dollars to my name. Hooray!!
The moral of the story is...pay your tithing and you'll be blessed!

Relax...Take a Deep Breath

In my HFED class today we've been talking about stress and ways to handle it.  My teacher suggested that we close our eyes and go to our "happy place," at which point we were then suppose to breath deeply and relax.  My teacher then had us do exactly that - during this relaxation exercise I must have flinched or shuddered or something because my teacher asked me about it afterwards.
I explained how my happy place consisted of me being in a meadow on a warm summer day.  It then shifted to me running through a semi dark forest with someone chasing me - that was a bit creepy.  And then it shifted back to me being in the meadow.
My class just laughed but what I thought was interesting was that this was the second time I've done this exercise and the second time it's shifted to the forest mid-way through.
Chalk one up for relaxation exercises!!!!

You're an...an ENABLER!

According to my roommate, I am an enabler.
In my apartment we came up with a chore chart - we each have a day where we specifically are in charge of taking out the trash and doing the dishes.  It's working out pretty well for the most part - except the other day the dishes were piled high, the trash needed to be taken out and a bunch of crap was left all over the front room and the kitchen.  I snapped.  I couldn't stand it anymore.  I just started cleaning everything - the dishes, the kitchen, the front room, my bed room.  I have a low tolerance for messes - especially in my apartment.  I can't stand having a messy apartment - it makes me very agitated, I can't focus and it doesn't feel good - the feel of the apartment is different and I don't like it.
When one of my roommates found out that I'd done it, she basically told me that I'm enabling my other roommates to slack off and to not clean.  And I need to stop doing that.  She said that she shudders to think about what would happen if there were an alcoholic in my family.  She said that I would just give them the alcohol if they were having a bad day.
There is a huge difference between cleaning an apartment because your roommates are slobs and encouraging someone in their drinking habits.

Sad Snowman

My friend forwarded this to me and I thought it was funny.  I think she's trying to say something about winter but I'm not sure....

Civil Rights Weekend - January

I decided to show you pictures from my trip to Logan anyway.  This is a pretty cool shot of some trees - I liked it because it reminded me of an arbor and I think arbors are awesome.

This is a close up of the light pole and me.

This puts things in perspective for you - I'm that tiny black dot in the middle.  Yeah I'm pretty much insignificant and yet some how God knows everything about me - cool.

Take...3!

Alright so after creating one blog and not being able to figure it out, I created another one - I had a lovely post on it, it was all about the adventures of my phone and some pictures from January but in the process of deleting my first blog I actually deleted my second one.  So now I'm back to square one except I know what I'm doing this time around and no one will be privy to what happened to my phone.  Oh well, how sad.
Onward with blogging!!!!
