Work

When I first started working for hospice a song by Tim McGraw came to mind - "Live like you were Dying." It seemed appropriate. In the months since then several more have come to mind: "Home", "Each Life that Touches ours for Good" and "Abide with Me" to name a few. A lot of songs and scriptures come to mind while I drive around and on visits, the song that comes to mind the most frequent is "I am a Child of God."

Right around the end of November a song I hadn't heard in years was coming to mind, we'd sung it when I was in choir in middle school or thereabouts - "Peace, Peace." A lot of our residents were dying and the chorus from "Peace, Peace" kept coming to mind - things settled down after a couple of weeks and they quit dying in groups of 5-6 and right about that time I forget the words to "Peace, Peace" again. It came to mind for a couple of weeks to help me through and then left - it was really cool.
