Can Satan Read?

We're told in the scriptures that there are certain things that Satan can't do - he can't appear in the form of a dove, he can't appear as an angel of light, he has to extend his hand if you ask him too, he can't progress further than he already has. We're also told that he can't know the thoughts and desires of our hearts - he can only guess by our actions. Thus if you want to keep your prayers private you pray silently in your head.
And yet we're commanded to keep a journal.

Don't the two kind of counter balance each other out? I mean you're praying silently to keep your thoughts private but if you then turn around and write them down - what was the point? Any advantage you had over him not knowing what's going on is taken away by you writing it down - especially if he can read.

I was a little concerned about this and asked the bishopric on Sunday about it and they said that as along as we're doing what we're suppose to be doing and stay solidly on the Lord's side, whether he can read or not is beside the point. That's good to know.
