Over 1100 journalists and media workers have been killed in the line of duty across the world since 1992. These brave men and women have paid the ultimate price with their lives to tell the world the truth – how far are you willing to go to report it?
The reasons vary but at the same time are oddly consistent; it was murder, someone wanted them out of the way. It’s a dangerous job we undertake as journalists but someone has to step up and be willing to risk everything for it.
Journalists make history, move the public, tell us about our daily lives, expose scandal, move us to tears, tell the truth in amazing ways, connect the dots, argue for points of view passionately, connect us as human beings, tell what is really going on, teach us cool stuff, make us smile, help us question, they suffer and they die.
If there’s nothing we’d die for, why do we live?
